Hood clearance problem
I have a 1963 with a mildly built 350 engine in it. There's a stinger hood on the car now. I tried to installed an original (63) hood, only to find out the carb, air filter, and intake manifolds sits too high (all aftermarket, not stock). Without the air cleaner installed, the hood will close with about an inch of clearance. I'm assuming any air cleaner that may fit this low clearance will choke the carb of air. Any suggestions?
I'm willing to swap out the carb and manifold setup, but need help in determining which (carb/manifold) setup will fit under the stock 63 hood. Hopefully a combo that can easily be bought over the counter, like from Summit Racings, eBay...etc. Thanks.

You just need a lower manifold.
All the major manufactures have their manifold dims on-line.
You want at least 2",a nd preferably more from the carb/aircleaner flange to the underside of the hood for a decent air cleaner.
Simple check the dims of your current manifold, against the various offerings on-line.
Make sure the new manifold has a place for an oil fill tube, IF you need one.
