C1 Pricing

Thanks!!
thanks,

$26k to $35k - Driver, 10 footer, probably needs paint and chrome, forget matching anything
$36k to $50k - Nice paint, nice interior and chrome, at low end not much matches number wise, if you want matching numbers then it needs chrome, paint and interior
$51k to $75k - At high end everything nice and matching
$76k and higher - Top Flight and well documented car
There is always give and take in the numbers and of course there is the "how bad do I really want this car" as compared to the sellers "how badly do I really want to sell this car?"
Unless you really want the satisfaction of doing it yourself, then I would suggest buying as much car with as much done as possible, in the long run you will save a ton of money.....
Good luck!!!
will have an additional 25% premium on them!!!!!!!

I bought an extreme basket case car (excuse me parts) for about 4500.00 in 2000. Well, $25,000.00 and 6 years later I am still buying parts and doing the bodywork. I figure another 25,000 and it will be complete. It is an expensive hobby, though, well worth it!
They key is patience. It took me 3 years to find my 58. Well worth it though. I found her here in California at the price range I wanted. Dont jump at the first one. Do your homework. It will pay off. By the way I paid $33,000 for my 58 3 years ago. She drove well and was a non hit body. No matching numbers though. good luck

I love the C1, and I was born in 1959. That's my goal.
Keep the advice coming please!!

100%. I bought my 60 numbers matching 2-top car last November for $35k. Mechanically, she is sound with a recently rebuilt motor and lots of new stuff underneath. She needed new carpet and some freshening up in the interior as well as some paint work on the rear of the car. She was missing the Wonderbar radio and the soft top and frame. Unfortunately, these items are some of the most expensive so verify them as well as interior pieces. I was lucky and wasn't even looking but the deal was too good to pass up. The banks always have money and if you are patient there are still deals to be had, especially this time of year! Good luck in your search! Last edited by Marks69BB; Oct 25, 2006 at 09:55 PM.

I bought my '61 basket case in '79 for $900 -and it took about $12,000 more (1979-1985) to make it sweet:
