For original production 3-digit dates, it's year, month, week of the month.

Early service dated carbs used the same format. During 1972 Holley switched to a 4 digit Julian date, but the shift was phased-in and I have seen 2818-1's built in '73 with three digit dates. I don't remember if the year was the first or last of the 4 digits. The other three were the day of the year (001 thru 365).

With the '72-up 4-digit date format, the first three digits are the Julian day of the year (0-365), and the fourth digit is the year.

YOU ARE BIDDING ON A REBUILT, REPLATED 1964-1965 CORVETTE 350/365 HORSEPOWER HOLLEY 2818 CARBURETOR. THE GM # IS 3849804, 2818-1, AND THE DATE CODE IS 982. THE DATE IS SEPTEMBER, 2ND WEEK OF PRODUCTION OF 1968.
Now this would be wrong,right

agree that it is a '69 dated carb, and THAT would have been a service replacement 2818 . . . .
