Trip Odometer Reset
I have looked through my AIM and Shop Manuals and cannot find any reference to:
1. Does the reset cable run through the hole in the crossmember behind the gage cluster? Or, over the top of the crossmember?
2. Where does the end of the reset cable mount?

Which end? There's the ****-end which is mounted in a collar that attaches to the steering column with a U-bolt, at the same bracket that holds the steering column up to the dash. The other end screws into the back of the instrument cluster.
