63 project
The car looks alot better in the pics than in real life, but it is real tight and straight. Jeff

Vintage, as soon as the weather turns a little colder, I am going to pull it apart and start a restoration. But it will be a driver, so I am going to try not to go to crazy.
Pete, here are a couple pics of our coupe. My wife and I have a picture of it under all lower 48 state signs, Canada, and Mexico. It was my college car in 1970 and now has over 300000 miles.

I did buy it from Rog in Grand Rapids, really nice guy to deal with. The car is much better than I originally thought. It is very tight and straight and you gotta love the gangster white walls and hubcaps.

What a great stablemate for your 63 SWC. I love the look those whitewalls add.
It was great meeting you and your lovely wife this past summer at the Vettes on the Square show. After seeing all of the quality work and detail on your SWC, I look forward to seeing your progress on your new roadster. Please post pics as you can.
With all the miles you and your wife travel in your Corvette, you are in for a real treat. Top down rides are the best!
Congratulations on the new purchase.

Good to hear from you. You are right about the top down deal. I had planned on taking it apart as soon as I got it home, but I fixed a few little things on it and we are having so much fun driving it I don't want to park it for the winter.
The car is so original, I am going to try to control myself and do a stock looking restoration with a few comfort mods like air conditioning and power steering and maybe overdrive. It will for sure be a driver. I never thought I would say this but I love the wide whites and hubcaps.
I'll keep you posted on the progress Jeff
Thanks for posting pics of your SWC
. It is an absolutely beautiful car I'd like to learn more about the engine/FI in your car
. Information like engine cid, FI manufacturer, performance specs if available, fuel-mileage, etc. Also other details regarding the car: differential ratio, tranny - Munchie, T-10, Tremec or ??
300,000 miles, huh
? Geez, my college car was a 1967 Datsun 1600 SPL311 Roadster. It has over 200,000 miles on it from back then ... great car ... but not a 'Vette by any stretch of any imagination
.Best Regards,
Pete
The current engine is out of a 90 vette and a very stock driver motor with Street and Performance wiring harness and chip. It gets about 22 MPH at 80.
The current trans is a Borg Warner T5 out of a 84 IROC. It has a 2.95 first gear and .38 overdrive and a 3.36 rear gear. It would be nicer if it was a 3.55 or 3.70, just havn't tried it yet. You can do a search on the forum, and I went into the install in detail.
I tried a few years back to make a Tremec work and I don't think you can get the proper driveline angles to make it smooth under load in a midyear. I know others are happy with the Tremec, it is just my expierence.
Let me know when you get those bumpers finished, I might still be interested if I havn't found any yet.
Regards Jeff
