Default Alternator Numbers

I am trying to identify the origin of the alternator in my '67 L79 4 speed Convertible. The numbers on the alternator are:

1100774 55A date code is 6K4

Any ideas where this thing came from?

Thanks in advance, Mark

It's from a 67 Buick Special.

Wayne,
Thank you very much. I have a friend with a Colvin book that shows that it is from a Buick so this confirms it.

Wayne,
Can you decipher the date code since it is a different format from what we usually see in Corvette date codes for alternators?

6 K 4 is conventional alternator dating (year/month/day) - October 4, 1966.

JohnZ,
From reading Alvin Colvin's book I would have expected the date code to be 6 K 04 for an October 4 1966 alternator, rather than 6 K 4.
Are you saying they dropped the 0 in the single digit days of the month?
Thanks,
Kurt

It might have been done both ways, but I've never seen two digits used for a single-digit day of the month.
