Default What would it take?

I've been toying with the idea of taking my 63 back to a 4sp. It was born a 4sp and then converted to a PG by the previous owner. How big of a job would it be to go back? Best place to find parts? Cost? Any advice?

TIA

Danno

If the pedals are still there you're looking at a few hours labor and $1-3K in parts depending on used, new, and/or finding great deals on the parts

Clutch pedal removed your looking at a little more time and and a little more $$$$, but no big deal.

Pretty easy swap. The powerslide stuff should be worth some money as well to offset the price of the new stuff.

I would look into one of the 5 speed conversions myself if I was gonna do it. There are a few vendors the sell everything you need soup to nuts for the conversion.

well..

you'll need the following parts..

clutch pedal and all linkage including, bell crank, ball stud, linkage rods and springs... bell housing, clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel, clutch fork, and throwout bearing, gearbox, shifter, (possible driveshaft and slip yoke) if the PG is shorter or longer than the OE gearbox, and if the spline count is different.

you can probably get most of this in a kit from somewhere, as I think all the pieces are available in the aftermarket or as reproductions.

aside from gathering all the parts, its not a hard swap at all.

Don't forget the pilot bushing/bearing.
