Default Back up light switch wiring

What and where does the wiring connect to, and how is it routed.
I did not take it apart. I bought the switch from a fellow member which included the complete shifting hdwe. I know how it goes but not a clue on the wiring.
Thanks in advance
Dennis

There is a plug near the wiper motor and where the tach and speedo cable come thru the fire wall. It is a two pronged plug that is "V" shaped. It has two wires and I think one of them is purple. Dave

In '66 the wires are green and pink.

I thank you all. It is a 65. By the way I completed all the info. about myself. I think I know why some don't, however I don't like sending a reply and using a name like "sloth" or what ever. What's wrong with at least a first name.

Default Backup Lights

Someone correct me if I am blowing smoke out my a$$, but I think backup lights were an option in 65. If his car was not factory equipped with them, will that plug & wiring be near the w/w motor ??? Also, if his car was not equipped with factory backup lights, the rear harness will not have the wiring for the backup lamps---only the tail, stop & license lamp circuits will be there.

Dennis, remove your street address from your profile for security reasons. You never can tell who is lurking in this forum looking to rob someone's car.

You are correct for 1965. The dash harness was different for cars with the optional backup lights. The rear harness was different as well. If the 65 in question never had backup lights, then those harnesses will also need to be replaced.

I have a elect. guru in my hip pocket, and unlike me he is not color blind. I'll put him to work on this after the holiday and let you know how I make out.
I live in a gated community, they even check me because I drive a Durmax Diesel that's been upgraded.
Ron your right I should edit my address.
