VIN help needed
Hello, I've made an offer on a 61 with Vin #10867s103761. How can you insure this is the correct number for this car (switched or Stolen)? Is there a registry where some record of this car would show up?

It might show up in the C1 registry, although that's a voluntary thing with a small number of cars relative to the number of cars that were built. Law enforcement has access to the NICB database to check for stolen cars by VIN.

When I went to verify my vin, I had the insurance company verify that no car that had insurance was listed with that vin; also DMV checked if it had been registered, and last was the most difficult, law enforsement ran the vin, but they would not do it for me. I had a friend with a friend, etc. get someone to do it.
