I aggree Jim... I just thought I would toss these numbers and parts
out there for those who like going the Cubic Inch route...
I'd rather have some AFR's or Merlin 16 degree BBC heads than cubes.

Yes I know it can be done. Money was not a factor.

If you are going to put a tall deck in one; why just a 572?

Not a big deal - used a stock GM 3x2 setup with Moroso intake spacer plates, only had to remove 1/4" from the height of the foam support screen in the air cleaner.

It's interesting to note what appears to be a very small amount of surface area on that car, John. I'm sure the people who did it must know what they are doing but I'm wondering about how it was selected.

I have heard about people using the 383 and having a 3" high air cleaner elements with a drop base. It seemed like they were very concened about having lots of filter surface so as not to choke the engine.

I would guess that the type of filter media would come into play, but is there some sort a formula for area of air filter needed for 'cubic cinches' or 'air volume' ?

Not being and engineer.......I gotta say that it doesn't look like old King Ray is gonna breathe to well thru that little slit..Maybe a BB 427 but I'm not to sure about a 572.

Who wants to run those numbers..?? John Z ..???

Would have worked fine, just wasn't in the original "recipe" for the car. Had to change the oil pan anyway, as the 572 comes with a truck pan that won't clear the front crossmember (used a Milodon).
