New original reproduction frames can be found at Vette Products of Michigan or Caledonia Corvettes & Classics.

Default Frame Woes

I saw your post on "frame rot" yesterday. If the pictures you listed show the extent of the rust, I would be getting the frame repaired rather than trying to buy a new or reconditioned one. New is new, but reconditioned, well, someone could have likely started out with something worse than what you have to work with right now and then "reconditioned" it. I don't have a problem with a reconditioned frame, but I don't easily trust someone else's work.
A reputable industrail machine-shop should be able to handle the repair. I would have it media-blasted then I would proceed on with identifying how bad the rust is. It didn't look bad to me.
I see you are in Europe. It's probably easy for me to talk about getting the frame repaired since materail and informational resources concerning getting a corvette frame repaired are probably more prevelant here in the states. I hope this situation works out for you.

Thx for your advice I have not decided yet to repair or to replace the frame I am just orientating myself.
Since this is the first corvette I am doing its kind of of hard to decide.
I found a local company who does the acid bath for 200 euro ( 250 $)
I think I will go this way, but it is tempting to buy a SS frame with C4 suspension.
On the other hand its better that I restore every single peace of the car myself.
