Default Can DeWitts do this?

I understand the rad. support if different for big and small block...right?

by this i mean width between pins

if so and i want to purchase a rad from dewitt's, do they make BB rad that would fit the small block rad support?

if they don't, is it possible to modify the rad to fit the small block rad support? My understanding is that the bottom part of the support is different as to where the pins go into the support..
THANKS
jack

Yep! You just use the stock 66-67 BB upper and lower, under section Hoses & accessories. I think they are 532 & 555

Tom
please explain, in layman's terms, what the difference is between your direct fit and your resto radiator (for example my 62) and why the resto has a higher heat tranfer rate.

The original GM Plate type (resto) radiators are unique in design. 3" wide plates are stacked up and furnace brazed to create a radiator that's 100% core. The flow path is 3" wide and all of that is in contact with the fin.

The Direct Fit aluminum radiators are also furnace brazed, but the design is similar to a c/b radiator. Here you have two rows of 1" tubes which provide a total of 2" fin contact. Each tube is brazed into a common header and the header is capped off with an end tank. Since both Resto and Direct Fit are 22.5" long, the cooling surface area of the Direct Fit is less because of the loss in area for the end tanks.

In short, wider tubes and larger cooling surface is what makes the plate type design so good.
