Default Car Origin

Something that I have been wondering about is the origin of my car. I bought it 5 years ago, from FL, when I stripped the interior found a lot of fine dust or sand in the jute insulation and all the vinyl looked as if it had been baked, so brittle when you grabbed the pads they just cracked and foam crumbled. I pulled the drive train the same year and cleaned the chassis found it rust free, more fine sand. Now while doing the spring same thing, very light rust on the leaves where they wore through the sperators otherwise no rust and fine sand.
What I am wondering has anyone experienced cars from a desert enviornment does this sand sound familiar.

i have seen many of cars that have sat out side all of there life and the vinyl in the interior just falls apart, and crumbles. the sun can do many of bad things to a car. the rust sounds typical to a dry enverment
