what wire when it goes threw the fire wall it doesnt go rt into the fuse box it loops around some where have you had this problem any special place to look thanks
Wayne is talking about instead of allowing the connection to be made via the pins to make a direct connection. The power is youR direct feed and it routinely fails to make a good connection so more than one midyear I'm sure has had this modification. I would make sure that this is your problem though before I would start making modifications.
i get power red lead going in fire wall 12 volts nothing at fuse box all thern look good i clean all removed connector is there a weak link some where that fails on this year
Wow - my head hurts trying to read this without punctuation. They are suggesting you bypass the bulkhead connector by splicing the wiring and running around it. I think you can first check this out on a trial basis by running a wire from the ignition switch to the positive terminal of the coil and see if it starts. Not sure how difficult it would be to connect it to the ignition switch terminal temporarily, however.
Bobby - not sur eif someone answered it, but there is no fusable link in a 65 wiring harness, so that's one thing that is not causing it.
I feel your pain brother, electrical gremlins really stink and mystify all of us from time to time - they require a methodical, work your way backwards kind of approach.
tell me about it (lol) WHAT IS THAT LITTLE BLOCK UNDER DASH i think red lead went to it about half an inch square its on the left up where you knee would be, can that be the problem ?

If it is a block with 2 red wires going to it, that is a relay for the headlight motors. Don't think that can cause your problem.
The original wireing would go through the connector and into the fuse box. If you remove the fuse box screws, you can pry the box open. Find the red lead inside and splice that through the firewall to the red wire in the harness on the other side. I actually remove the guts of the connector and run the wire through there. I leave enough wire to plug the connector back up and tape the extra onto the harness. You cant tell it has been done. But it cures the condition that I call " AIR CAR ITIS" permanently.
jack i took apart the fuse box clean all connectors in the rear of the box found a broken wire (red) repaired also found a bad green wire on the connector repaired that. after i did that i got 12 volts into the fuse box. the wire looked good by eye broken inside. just want to say THANKS AGAIN what a great group of guys in here . wish i lived closer

Sounds like it's time to consider replacing the harness.
