Default Original engine?

I'm having the engine on my 65 coupe rebuilt. The engine has been rebuilt before and unfortunately the vin code info has been machined down to where its impossible to determine letters and numbers. The vehicle's Trim Tag says B11 (Sept. 11, 1964) and vin tag says 194375S100827 (St. Louis Assembly Plant). The engine block casting number is 3782870 (62-62) and block casting date is G144 (July 14,1964). The engine block appears to be date correct for this car but I dont know if it's the original engine for this car. Any recommendations to verify if its the original engine block knowing that the vin info is no longer ledgible? Thanks.

It sounds like the original block to me. My matching 65 VIN is about 300 past yours and from St Louis Plant. We have the same block casting #, my trim tag says Sept 16 and the block casting date is Aug. 22, 1964. I was surprised to see the late trim date (near mine) with the 5 week earlier Block Casting date but they still work within the 6 month parameters.

wow..300 past..nice. They are like brothers or sisters. Yeah, just in case I ever sell, and not that I plan to, wanted to verify if it was the original block. Wished they hadn't machined down the numbers.
