searched the forums, but need to check on this block. id T06I0HC, any help is appreciated.
as above - what you posted is the engine assembly date and suffix code from the stamp pad, which might be numbers that appear on the block, but not the "block number" that will help us zero in on what the block was used in. Best we can say is that it is a Tonawanda block assembled on June 10, year uncertain. And HC is not a C2 engine suffix, smarter fellows will tell us what GM cars did use an HC suffix.
Post the block casting number, and for extra credit, the cast date.
He's implying, NOT a Corvette engine, as I was told, " Don't feel bad many times the guys would stick in another engine to keep their car going" For what it's worth MINE has a Tonawanda engine also. Someone went spent extra effort to keep it looking close to original till I had to replace the old AFB carb for egged out throttle shaft holes and had to put the dual-snorkle in the garage storage room.
Mine is a "driver." Looking at other options for a little more SOTP performance.

It could be from a '65 passenger car, but not from a Corvette; no Tonawanda-built small-blocks were used in Corvettes.
