Default Does this Corvette emblem exist?

Hello,

Is there such a thing as either of these script emblems without the "Stingray" at the bottom?

If so can you direct me where to find?

Thank you
Bone

I have never seen any emblems in the "mid year font" without the Sting Ray script attached to it.

Yep thought about that too, but all the letter connection points would look quite bad.

I'm guessing that with such a short car you don't have enough room for all of the words

I think I have seen photos of what you describe on concept and Motorama type cars, but nothing that was ever in production.

Thought about having the Stingray cut off with a water-jet?... and then
re-chrome?? It would leave a smooth-gouge free surface for the re-plate...

I've also seen guys with plasma cutters do wonders... cut perfect holes
in chrome bumpers for acc. lights with no need to re chrome the bumper. I am a tad concerned about whether they could
work on a piece that small... just trying to list some options.

I looked at my original 63 Sting Ray emblem and I think you could remove the Sting Ray if you took your time and were good with a mini grinder. Can't say if the repops are put together the same but where the scripts join is fairly thin. Then it would depend on how visible it would be in the new location.

My digital camera is not here at the moment or I'd send along a pic. Repops are cheap at $25 so try it. The Stingray emblem at $40 may be easier to do this with, judging by the pictures.

Might try a Dremmel tool with the abrasive cutoff disc. They are easy to control and can make a good cut.
