front spring replacement

what's with the front spring replacments?

-it appears you can not get the progressively wound springs like original.

- most are black

-anyone have good success with a replacement spring. ride height etc.? Vendor/model

-what is stock rating?

65 SB

-i assume all 40 yr old springs need to be replaced?

I have Moog-5758 springs and have no problems with them at all. $47.00 pair, Summit. Wound with seven coils, which makes installation a lot easier, no spring compressor needed.

Skids did the ride height change?

No need to change springs if the ride height is good. Most repros sit too high. A few have been lucky to find one that works.

Coil Springs Specialties in (I think) St. Marys Kansas will wind them anyway you want them - including to progressive wind stock specs.

It's been awhile, but yes, I do believe the front sits just a tad bit lower than with the old springs I had. Also added a little bit more firmness to the suspension. I like em.
