Rear end clunk
Last fall, just before putting the 63 SWC away for the year, I started hearing a clunk in the right rear when I went over a decent bump in the road. Do any of you have any thoughts what it might be? I thought it might be a body mount, or the fuel tank. But I have no idea what I'm talking about, so if those are ridiculous ideas just ignore them, and let me know what you think. Thanks.

my dads 67 coupe gets that noise too. we belive its the U joints going bad they are original to the car

Shock mount, trailing arm, front bushing, pinion snubber, or strut rod bushings clunk on bumps. Ujoints clink when reversing torque. Pinion snubber when gears are changed too. Wheel bearings that are reeaallly bad will too, but by then you should be dragging brakes.

And don't forget to check your differential gear oil level - if you have a positraction/LSD with low lube level you can get some 'clunks' also, Best Regards, Gary (Perth, Australia)
