Default Cracked intake ?,this can't be good

I noticed this antifreeze puddleing in my intake. At first I thought the upper hose clamp was leaking but there are know signs of leakage. So I dried it up and ran the car and did not see anything. Next day more antifreeze in the intake valley. Puzzleing?? Could this be a hairline crack in my intake or intake gasket ?? This is not a good way to start the spring/summer driving season.
Thanks

Is it leaking around your temperature sending unit?

hairline crack around temp sending unit boss, happened to my SHP intake as well, and led to little green puddles.

The first thing I would do is pull your manifold bolts one at a time and place a small amount of silicon sealant around the threads and top portion of the bolt. This is easy to do and my solve your problem. I have done this several times with good success. Rich

Did you put sealant on the intake bolts?

Just a small amount-some manifold bolts go into the water jacket or your gasket is letting a small amount of water by near the bolt.

Let me guess. You're using repop radiator hose clamps. The top hose is leaking at the neck and you can't see it. Put an aircraft clamp on it and see if it stops.

This is good advice on a small block, but the original poster has a big block. The bolts do not run into the water jacket on big blocks.

Check the sending unit.

yeah, that and the fact that overtightening the sending unit is easy to do and leads to cracks in the boss, esp. so with aluminum intakes. My guess stands

Just didn't want someone to waste time (or screwing something up) taking the intake bolts out.

Yes I agree, it is easy to crack aluminum. Especially if there is too much Teflon on the threads.

Thanks for the all the advice. I will investigate it this weekend. I am pretty lazy during the week. As of right now there are know signs of a crack around the sending unit or fluid seeping from the threads. However I did find a small amount of antifreeze on the very top of the sending unit where the temp gauge wire is attached ??
thanks

Put another clamp on the top hose and your sending unit will be dry. Don't pay any attention to those other guys.

I had the same type of problem, I was finding small quantities of antifreeze in my top rad fins. I have reproduction tower clamps on the upper hose, and when the car would get up to full temp/pressure a small quantity of antifreeze was escaping from the end of the hose. IMHO, start with the easy stuff...
