Default Gasketed Triangular Frame Splash Shields Question

Doing a little more frame detailing - side rail section...have rockerpanels off....the small splash shields that have the rubber gaskets around one side of them...got them off as well.

Do the repo rubber gaskets fit well? Are the staples hard to do? Do they come with the gaskets?

Any other useful advice I should know about this area / gaskets?

Probably going with LICS on these...

Going with the Krylon 1613 to match the other triangle shields/pans I painted down there a while back.

Hope thats not too far off...

The ones that I have are only in fair condition, hate to put them back around everything freshly cleand and painted.

I know some of you have left them off, but I am trying to 'keep the look' where I can.

You need to buy the rubber seals separately. Make your own staples from 16-ga. steel wire (hardware store item); you'll have to drill the holes for the staples in the seals and shields. When you attach the seals, install the staple in the recessed area first, before you do the straight edges.

It may be Bubba, but I squeeze a little weatherstrip adhesive in the slot of the rubber gasket and hold it on the sheetmetal with office supply paper binder clips until the glue sets up. Then you can put your staples in at you leisure and not fight the rubber always wanting to move or come off. Or, you can leave the staples off entirely, depends on how NCRS you are.

I think I read somewhere that the rubber is not fitted if the car has side pipes. Is that correct?

That's correct - with N14, there are no seals and no staple holes.
