I have a 64 Corvette and I'm considering building a 327 from block up or try and find a good 327 crate motor. Any suggestions from anyone? I've had the car for several years and have three different 350's in it and now looking to go with a 327. Any input appreciated.
I bought a complete long block from these guys a few years ago. I have never checked the numbers, but I just assumed it wasn't an original corvette block. The pad had been decked and I have left it blank. It has around 4K miles on it so far and runs smooth.

The videos are really nifty, check out some of the wild cams in the really high powered engines! All of his engines are turn key drop ins, I am going to buy my 383 here...
Go to the bottom of the page and click "Engine Live Run Windows Media" for the run, I love it!

Just passing this along. I spoke with a guy that purchased from these guys and he cannont recommend them. According to the person I spoke with, he paid for roller rockers and didn't get them in addition to the motor taking a very long time to receive, something like 6 months. It sounded kind of messy from his side. Of course this is only one side and I don't have any personal exprerience the may be very reputable, just thought I would throw that out there. Perhaps someone else would have better luck.

I'm curious - how come not a 383. Small block drivability with BB torque (almost anyway).
Thanks for your replys and web sites. I guess I need to decide which option to choose. One friend of mind says build a 327, my brother who likes drag racing says build a 383. Since its not totally orginal I guess as long as its a small block and got plenty of power either one will do. Thanks again.

I think you should go 383. You can easily make 400-450hp and retain a stock look. My goal in the next 6 months is to throw in a 383 and make it look exactly like a 300 or 350hp stock motor.
Thanks, I may go with the 383. My brother had a drag car 78 malibou a few months ago with a 383 and we took it down some country roads it was set up strictley for drag racing. I've driven many muscle cars and this car was super fast. Would almost raise the front wheels. Will let ya'll know.
I would NOT recommend using Phoenix Engine Rebuilders. They built my 327. They said 6 weeks build time, I started calling after 9 weeks. After 10 weeks they wouldnt return my calls. The owner recommended roller rockers and charged me for them. The motor arrived without rollers and he claims the extra fee was a core charge! They were very friendly until my credit card was charged!
