It's etched in the glass on the exterior mirror; no date on interior. Format is MM-DMI (Donnely Mirrror Inc?)-Y. Example would be "11-DMI-5" for November 1965.

Although mine doesn't have a date, the '66 Judging Guide (p. 20) says that the interior mirror is dated in the lower right corner of the glass. They cite and example: 3DMI6, which would be March '66. Long Island Corvette sells dated repops, listed in their catalog in Section 10, item 12AD, for '63-'66. Perhaps in '67 they did away with the dates.
Dated exterior glass is another issue...
Cheers!

The AS2 code doesn't appear on my mirror. I have a "10 DMI 6" for my early '67.
My other post was for glass not mirrors. Oops...............
Ajax (AX) and Donnelly Mirror Inc. (DMI) both supplied mirrors.
They don't use the same way to date their glass. Ajax is A-L for the month (example: A AX 6 = Jan 1966). Donnelly is the easier of the two (example: 10 DMI 6 = October 1966).
it is easy to miss on the outside mirror. I pulled the retaining ring out and took out the glass from the housing and the date jumped right out at me. I swear, I stared at every inch of that mirror glass before I removed it and didn't see a date. Too bad it is a service replacement date!
Paragon will sell you an outside mirror with the glass dated as you wish.
And, on a side note, Donnelly is still making mirrors for GM; they supplied the mirrors in my 02 Avalanche (they recently merged with or were bought by Magna, so now known as Magna Donnelly) - http://www.donnelly.com/whoweare/default.asp
