I bought a early 327 crate short block and I plan on switching over the intake, valve covers etc. I plan on venting the new motor the same way with the road draft. Should I buy a new oil/air seperator? Is that what its called? (the vent canister under the intake in the valley). Do they wear out or should I plan on re-using it? I cant find one online because Im not sure exactly what they're called. Thanks
My 65 has a tube plumbed from the back of the block to the air cleaner. No PCV valve per-se, just a metered orifice in the carb that gets air from a hose at the oil fill tube
No problem in reusing. If Rust is present soak it in Muriatic Acid 20/80 with water for 45 Min. and flush with clean water and dry it inside and out thoroughly. Why allow any Rust into a "New" motor? Al W.
