Default 66 odometer reset mount

i cant remember how to remount the trip odometer reset cable bracket

there are 2 large holes in the bottom of the bracket but the spacing is such that no matter where i put it i get interference from the screws that CC supplied me to mount the right fresh air vent cable.
i took it apart but that was 3 years ago.
can anyone help.

thanks

The mount bracket is held to the steering column with a U bolt.

Let ms see if I can dig up a picture...

This is from when I began to disassembly my 65 A/C car in order to replace the wiring harnesses. One vent cable (closest to the radio) is already disconnected, the other cable is loosely held in place for reference.

and this is how the steering column mount and odometer mount play together:

You sir are truly amazing!!!.
now i see that the bracket goes along with the steering column mount and is not attached to the bottom lip of the instrument cluster right side at the lighter.
However on your picture the attachment point for the reset cable is at the back, left side. if it was turned 180 degrees it would put the reset **** at the right side of the column and closer to the frond edge of the instrument cluster.......... ??? seems to be better no?

I don't remember the specifics, but I know that I didn't think there was enough room to move the **** to where you suggest, without really pinching the cable "somewhere".

I also can NOT confirm whether or not my car is correct, I simply put it back the way I found it.

Having just put mine back together not too long ago, I have to agree with 62Jeff. Trying to mount the cable on the right of the steering column causes too severe a bend in the cable for it to ever work smoothly, if at all.
