Speedometer Cable Length
Just bought a speedo cable and need to shorten it 1". Can I use a hacksaw or wire cutters to get a clean cut? I don't have any other tools in the garage I can think of to use to cut it. What can be used to cut the cable clean? Thanks

Cut off wheel in a Dremel tool.
How you gonna get the ends (sleeve/nut) back on?
An inch shouldn't make that much difference.

I went through the same thing, but I just wanted to replace the inner spiral core. Went to a speedo shop and the had the core in bulk. Cut me a piece to the original's exact length and then used a little welding device to finishish the tips correctly. Very inexpensive! Then just had to slip the inner core into the outer tube and everything has worked since.
