Default windshield installation

Hi,

I'm just about to reinstall the windshield on my 64 convertible and i was wondering if i need to lay a bed a sealer compound? If so witch one should i use and shoul i be generous when applying it?

You should lay a generous bead of 3M Bedding & Glazing Compound (Part No. 08509) prior to setting the glass & gasket. After it is in, seal between the lip of the gasket and glass with 3M Window-Weld Resealent (Part No. 08633). Then lay another bead of the bedding compound around the base of the gasket and two beads on top of it to seal the trim. There are good instructions in your Chassis Service Manual.

Thanks for the info. I did a search on this forum and i've read and follow your frame off informations. You certainly did one good job!!

As for the compound, where would it be possible for me to buy some?
