Default Corvette Central Special

I just wanted to give the forum some feedback on my experience with the special 10% discount for customers that ordered during their move. I decided to try an order three weeks ago. I ordered some generic items some of which I knew woulf have to come from the manufacturer. I received a three part shipment, the first in three days, the second from one manufacturer and the third one from a second manufacturer in just over two weeks.

I thought that was pretty good service considering all the trouble with them recently. I plan to order again before November the 15.

As some of you may know from an earlier post , my wife ordered some items from them for my birthday in May. After long delays to get the initial order, I finally received the last item(a valve cover key chain that Ecklers had in stock the whole time and it was $2.00 cheaper) on Sept 19th over 4 months after the initial order. I purposely left it on back order to see how long it would take. I did receive an apology letter with the last item. I sympathize with there situation as I have myself been involved with busineses during major moves and transitions like new computer systems . I think it is important to give them a second chance and I will in the future. How they deal with my next order will determine any future orders.

I placed an online order with them two weeks ago (fuel sending unit, etc. for my '65 Coupe). Although I did not receive an email confirmation (as stated in the online order), I received all of the parts in three shipments (US mail of all things, not UPS), within 7 days from the online order.
Most moves from any large business allow the opportunity for something to get lost, misplaced, etc. I have used them throughout the years with great results.
Just my .02 worth. :D

BlueShark,

I placed a order Monday 15 Oct 01 and recieved it on the 18 Oct 01 without a problem. The order was complete and correct and the quality is what I expected. I did have a clock **** for my 58 on back order for several months but recieved it without a additional shipping charges.

...i've followed this post with some interest and 'though i have no stake in supporting any vendor (could care less about them since i know that the midyear suppliers discount by 40% parts to other retailers (saw an invoice i shouldn't have seen :D ....a GOOD business to be in, fer sure))...i've dealt with lics exclusively over the last 3 years, NEVER an out of stock and USUALLY the lowest price or not worth the difference to go elsewhere, great customer service...sometimes tough to deal with over the phone but a great place overall :yesnod:

I looked all over for a c1 radiator core support. Not even the mfgs had them. Corvette Central had 3 instock at a fair price. The lady I talked to when I ordered over the phone told me about shipping discounts when ordereing over the net. I did so and saved a few bucks. My core support was delivered in one week. I have heard other horror stories, but I had them check stock before I ordered and had a great trans action. :hat

Lately, I have and will go anywhere but Corvette Central. Their "back order crap" is crap! They do not have anything in stock any more and order "just in time" from the manufacturers. They are an impersonal business and I will not use them if possible.
I welcome someone from their management to argue against my remarks.
