Sold my Repo Knock Off's and tires yesterday. I haven't decide what I'm going to put on yet so I had to borrow a set of ralleys and Coker Red Lines from a friend. Didn't bother to bring home the rings and caps.
Sure makes for a different look
Now I need to figure out what to put on SOON

Chrome Bolt-on Knock-Offs
Had rally wheels, rings and caps on my 65 with Firestone F60 wide ovals, white letters out. They looked good for may years. Now that I'm redoing it I've gone with a 17 x 8.5 C6 style wheel and Goodyear F1's 245 - 45 x 17. We put a new custom chassis under it with C4 suspension. Had to use a spacer but seems to fit. The C6 wheels go with the '06 LS2 engine crate engine and the C2 + C4 + C6 theme. My avatar is the drivers front wheel and tire.
Sorry guys, I like the repo knock offs the best....but whatever floats your boat! It's your boat to float after all.
There are several reasons why I opted for the bolt-on knock-off wheels:
* They are safe (not like the original knock-offs).
* They will ALWAYS be in style, no matter what the trend is...Did you get Champ 500's in the 80's? Do you have 20" wheels now on any other car or truck? Both of those are dated designs and will depreciate in value every day, but the original equipment-style wheels will always hold their value.
* They are made of lightweight aluminum, and have the biggest legal tri-spoke spinners known to man (the little Champ 500 tri-spoke spinners were illegal in Texas from what I understand)
* They look awesome going down the road!
* There are no backspacing issues or places where the wheel rubs the calipers...truly a part engineered for YOUR specific application.
I'm sure there are more reasons...but how many times do you want to buy wheels for your Vette? Make this the last time.

I just LOVE the look and feel much better about the safety of the bolt-on's. I couldn't agree more that the KO's will always be in style just like the corvette. Still, different strokes for different folks. If you like the TT's or Cragers, or whatever, more power to ya!

Chrome Bolt-on Knock-Offs
Tires (100's of options)
To many decisions for today

Put the trim rings on those wheels and the flat caps and then take another look. Right now those Rally's are bare you can't expect them to stand out. I didn't like the look of the bolt-on knock-offs on my C-2 so I sold them tires and all to a forum member and put a set of Rally's back on my car. To me the stock Rally's look the best and they are very easy to keep up with. I don't know what the big craze is over putting a set of bolt-ons on a C-2. I have been around a long time driving Corvettes for over 37 years and that look does nothing for me.

Ain't American great?!! No one telling us what we have to like or dislike. To each his own. Save the wave!
I Think The Chrome Bolt On Knock Offs Would Look Great!
After having chrome factory wheels on my past two C4s; I have become a huge fan of the chrome wheels. Just for starters they are easy to maintain, shed brake dust easily, and look good with little more than a simple good washing and using a little polish a couple times a year.
And the fact that they will look even nicer than the polished aluminum versions is a bonus at events with several C2s on site.
The bare rally wheels have that "don't screw with me" look, but I think it would grow old early. I am glad we have varying tastes in wheels. It keeps things interesting.
