Jack you put a TKO 600 in your car????????? How much did you have to cut out?????

EDIT: Opps my mistake I forgot the TKO is a 5 speed. THE T-56 that was in my EX's 70 camaro was just a dream. I still miss that car.

Also I live south of Annapolis. My father has a 60 and I have my 58. Maybe we all will cross paths some sunny day.

I had the same problem in my 67. I fought with it until I figured out that the distance from the end of the cable to the swedged on stop was to long. The cable was bottoming out before the threads could get started. I removed the cable and compared it to my old one and trimed the new to match the old and it went together with ease.
Good luck with yours.

Jack...let me be the second to ask...how did the install go? Did you remove the engine? Did you have to cut the ashtray housing? Any clearance issues? My hat is off to you for being brave enough to do what a bunch of us want to do at some point...

I did cut the bottom of the ashtray well, took about 3/4" then sectioned the ashtray.

See you on the road sometime. Mine is not stock so you should be able to pick it out.

I didn't pull the engine, [ one pain in the azz ] If you do it, pull the engine, now I don't have a lift so working on your back was hard. The trans is heavy, that was the most trouble I ever had changing a trans. I was telling SKY65 Tom I was ready to pull the body off to get it in.

Cool looking '60 with the lakes plugs. The right color too. I have been thinking about a TKO for the '59 so it's good to hear what is required to do the job. I see Gear Vendors has a new unit for the T-10. I wonder how that would fit?
