I have a 67 53k original miles unmolested so no Bubba wiring. Saturday morning it would not start - no turnover at all. Rolled it down the hill and pop the clutch started right up. Cranked fine after that. Sunday same thing happened again however now after driving it will not key crank at all. Battery is fine and starter sounded fine on saturday. Any thoughts??? Solenoid or is there another common problem?
Voltage test the battery cold with the engine off. (I hope it's this) a healthy 12 volt battery should read 12.8-14 volts... if it's under 11.70
it could be on it's final march... they can still work for a brief period
with the alternator's help if push started...but you're on borrowed time.
Batteries that sit without starting or trickle charging can go bad in
as little as 1 1/2 to 2 months...even if they are fairly new. Some will recharge
from this condition... it kills others.
