what do you guys think i always wanted one but the price doesnt seem to bad right?i cant go see it till next week when i get back from florida.
Looks good to me and not a bad price for it either. Of course w/ the nut missing off the air cleaner lid I assume the hood holds it in place.. 8-) Its even resell red. Keep it a driver and you'll love it. Of course good luck talking the wife into it first. :smash:
I hate to be a stick-in-the-mud but, you may want to get a list of the 'big' parts that are missing and then do a quick price check on them. For example: the rear bumpers and the door panels. It looks like it also has power windows and the wring for the windows is cut. Does that mean the PW motors dont work? Those motors are not cheap.
It shouldn't cost too much more for these parts but, what else is missing? It could actually run you a few thousand and then you are looking at a $25+ car instead of a $19k car.

It looks to me that the wires that you are seeing belong to some type of aftermarket speakers that were in the door panel. You can see a large round hole in the door
My vote is also for aftermarket speaker wiring.. Although I don't see it's mate on the other side of the car
The car does appear to have power windows though.. as it has the switch on the console..
Wait, That's not a 63 console is it??
My worry wouldn't be the missing bumpers or door panels..
I would be more conserned about what might have been covered up under what looks like new paint. and I would want a look at the frame..
A few quick minutes with a person who knows C-2's will reveal the major problems..
If this will be a driver and not a restoration project, it looks like a good car..
There have been mods and I wouldn't expect any numbers to match..
But on a driver, who cares..
Worth a look..
Might just be the car you've been waiting for..
Just be sure to check for the things that will cost major bucks to have replaced or repaired..
Remember the 63 has many unique parts and are harder to find and more money to replace
As an example:
That glove box door is about $400 for the 63
There are a few mods for sure,
But nothing yet that would scare me off a good driver..
I would still want to visit it.. and take a closer look.
Overall from what I can see, the car looks good..
It's what we don't yet know that could spoil the show..
There is an old Italian saying..
She looky good... but she no looky good
joe conte is an honest guy......i've heard a number of stories where he has made good on a purchase because HE didn't know....ask him all the questions you want and he'll answer them....i think you could find such a car cheaper in the paper (a number of decent-sounding midyears in the philly inquirer over the last few weeks) but 'ya gotta remember you're not buying the car, you're buying the seller's integrity - i'd buy the car from joe if you are satisfied with it :smash:
...if this is your first midyear and you want someone who's learned from mistakes to go over the car, send me mail and maybe we can hook up.....i'm maybe 30/40 minutes from conte's
