harmonic balancer

Is a stock 6"by 3/4 ok to use with a .485 lift cam?or should I go bigger.

The timing cover tap is made for a 6 inch.

Harmonic balancer size

From my understanding, the harmonic size does not have anything to do with the cam specs. The harmonic offset weight is meant to go hand in hand with the crank that is the motor to ensure the motor is balanced.

Your choice of damper has nothing to do with your camshaft selection. If you are currently set up for a 6 3/4" damper than by all means use another one.

Actually, it has nothing at all to do with engine balance (except on an externally-balanced 400SB, 454, or 383); it's a "harmonic damper", and attenuates crankshaft torsional vibration, not balance.
