Default Alternator Upgrade

I’m looking to purchase an alternator and need to find out which one will work for my application. The car is not original; I have a 383 in it. I am running a MSD ignition, maybe electric fans for the radiator, no electric windows and would like to install an aftermarket air conditional in the future. I see that Lectric Limited has a conversion kit for internal regulated alternators but how does one determine what size to get and which one?

Thanks,
Eddie

Here a picture of my project.

I would recommend a 94 amp alternator that uses the same size of case that most of the early Vettes use but only in 37-63 amp units. The nice thing about is that it`s mounted in the same place without the need of 1/2 assed aftermarket useless brackets ..

I did the Delco 12SI alternator upgrade a few years ago. Has a built-in regulator. Running A/C with auxillary fans & lights on there is no discharge at an idle. Alternator fit perfectly. I used the Lectric Limited $15.00 conversion wiring harness. Check out this information at Mad Electrical. Rebuilt alternator with lifetime warranty at Advance Autoparts is about $110.00 (no core charge). Works for me.

I am using a 105 amp, one wire (horrors) aftermarket alternator. I am running TPI, Walbro electric fuel pump, Spall electric fan, Vintage Air, Dakota digital cruise control, Power Windows and pushing it all through a Painless wiring harness.

Mounts to stock alternator bracketry. Only thing to give it away is that it is chromed. Otherwise it looks stock.
