Default Thick or Thin?

I remember a thread awhile back on figuring out if an oil pan took a thick or thin front seal. But I can't find it in the archive. I admit my archive searching skills suck. Anyway, I know you turn the pan upside down on the bench and measure to the top of the front semicircle. But what are the measurements to determine thick or thin seal?

When measuring the pan, if the radius will either be 2 1/4 inches or 2 3/8 inches. If you get 2 1/4 use the thick gasket at 2 3/8 use the thin gasket.

Wouldn't it be the other way around?

2-1/4" = thin

2-3/8" = thick
