Default SPARK PLUG GAP.

JUST INSTALLED PERTRONIX IN MY 62 327 FI AND I THOUGHT I READ HERE ONCE THAT YOU CAN INCREASE THE GAP AFTER DOING SO. IS THAT CORRECT?? :chevy

.035 original gaps provide a good idle. All a wider gap does is improve the idle and unimprove the top end. We used to race these cars with a .030-.032 gap for top end performance, but the idle was only so - so. Is there a reason you want a wider gap?
