Nice pics! Did they have that white '67 L88 in the Special Collection this year?
My brother who lives ~30 minutes away was there Friday and said he's never seen so many '67 big-blocks in one place. I wonder how many of them were real.

I know at the Central NJ NCRS Regional they hit 3 67 Big Blocks as fake. I was venture to say at Bloomington, they are going to have a hand full of fake cars.

There were 30 67's for judging at Bloomington, and 28 were BB's; 2 of the 10 in our group were hit for fake trim tags.

John:
How does the owner react when they find out about the tag? Are the tags from another car or reproductions? What do you make of this? Is it an owner that knows coming in hoping to pass or is it someone who is oblivious to the fact? I see ads here and there for cars that say ready for BG judging. Are some of these cars showing up on the judging field?

What about that '67 white L88 ? Can you give us more details about the car you mentioned ?
Thanks,
Drew Papsun

Drew,
I was at BG once in the late '80s (when I lived in IL) and there was a white '67 L88 on display in the Special Collection. I "assume" it was real and I believe it's the same car that's in Mueller's book, "Sports Car Color History: Corvette Sting Ray 1963-1967" which might be out of print by now. I think I've seen it featured in other books/mags over the years, as well.

They're reproductions. Anybody who thinks they can get a fake trim tag through Bloomington or NCRS judging these days had better just leave the car at home.
