Default Electrical Problem

Hi, I am having a little problem with my turn signals and brake lights in my 67. I have lights in the rear but no turn signals nor brake lights. My front turn signals work just fine. Any ideas????Jim

Do your gauges work? If not, I think they are all on the same fused circuit; check your fuses.

THANKS for the thought but, I just checked all gauges seem to be working, without starting, the amp gauge works it goes to the neg side and beats when the four way blinker operates. but no four-way blinking in the rear. I have rear lights but that is all not turn signals, not four-way blinking, no stop lights ???????????? Any other thoughts???

Just check your fuses; I think it's the top fuse in the box.

Good thought - fuse looks good - but if a fuse would not all directional lights be out? I can not read my fuse box so I looked at all fuses and they all look good. Do you know what order they should be in for a 67SB 327/350 and what amps they should be. Seems like I read somewhere that the owners manual shows one thing but it is not correct according to the build book, if I read both correctly......

I'm going according to my 1964; in my car it's the top fuse.

Default Elecrtrical problem

I misread the schematic, the common point for the brake switch and the directional lights , is the directional switch. It may be either the directional switch or the body connector to the rear of the car. Check for voltage on the dark green wire or the blue/yellow wire from the directional switch in both postions of the switch. If you get the voltage at that point, go to the rear body connector and check there.

I had a similar problem. But I pulled the rear lamp bulbs out and cleaned all the corrosion off of the bulbs and sockets. Put it all back and everything worked! Yes, got lucky for a change

According to my Dr Rebuild schematic, the yellow wire controls the left brake / turn signal and the green wire controls same on right side. Both pass through the semi-circular connector on the column. The front appear to be dark / light blue on same connector.

Sounds like the issue either at that connector or the rectangular connector under the driver side cluster that passes everything to the rear of the car. If it were ground, the tail lights would not work either.

The Dr Rebuild wiring diagram is a great tool:

ok do your 4 way flashers work??????? if they dont try swapping the flashers around, there are two of them one on top of the fuse box and one behind the ignition switch...in that area ....swap them around...also check the bulbs you might have blown them all...you can have tail lights and not stop lights if the filiments blew on them all..strange i know but check them ...I have a problem too..i have stop lights and brake lights and 4 ways but no blinkers..so I ordered a new directional switch...hopefully it will make the difference..if not.back to the drawing board
