Default Another date question

What would be correct engine assembly dates for a 1965 with a born date of Nov 30 1964? Body date is Nov 23. Could the engine have been assembled as late as Nov 27th? Thanks for your help. Phil

"Typical" is 2-6 weeks prior to the car's final assembly date, but NCRS gives full credit for up to six months. November 27th is too close to the final assembly date - engines were shipped by rail. 5-6 days is about as close as you can cut it.

"Typical" gap from block casting date to ENGINE assembly date can be anywhere from one day to 6 weeks or so, although longer gaps have been noted.

Thank you. Thought maybe mine could be to long. Have matching engine# and pad T1104HG, nov.11 1964. The engine cast date is I84, sept.8 1964, almost 8 weeks earlier. Cylinder heads are I 214 and I 244, sept. 21. and 24. VIN indicates car to be "born" dec. 1. 1964, so this sounds "normal" then?

hoping your engine assembly stamp on the pad begins with an "F" and not a "T", or else the date issue is the least of your concerns

With an "F" stamp, that works.

good answer, for you and your 65, whose 327 was assembled at Flint (F) and not Tonawanda (T)
