REAR END CODE
W9E1 for 71-72 "the stamping begins withs two letters for the ratio code, a letter for the axle plant, one to three numbers for the julian day of the year, a letter for the Postitraction source, and a number for the shift." As quoted from the NCRS 1097-72 Corvette Technical Information and Judging Guide.
Therefore, this would be "W" for the Warren Motive axle plant, "9" is the julian day = January 9, "E" is for Eaton as the maker of the positraction, and 1 is the first shift.
Are you certain of the H033? Perhaps it is something else. You should have a code on there for the ratio, often beginning with the letter A.
Can anyone correct me on this or give light to the H033?

This does not jive with anything else I have read. I am pretty sure it is a 3:55 from counting revolutions of wheel and pinion. Is this the casting date?
thanks
Matt
