body pull questions
Thats how my body was taken off. I would suggest to build a body dolly to put the body on if you have done so yet.
I used the engine hoist method from the side and it worked fine.
as for my project, i'm doing a 64 coupe resto-mod, the body is on the dolly i built in augest. i am doing the frame, suspension, drivline, engine restore/build first. i am super lucky , i've found my mechanicals/frame/susp. are way better than any of the pics that have been posted here. the driveline is totaly rebuilt/restored now, the frame is sandblasted and solid, plumbing has been built and updated (jim lockwood--i figured out all the stuff you need to do go to modern dual master system with drum brakes, on the cheap--it was another thread and you asked me to post results, which i will do) i have the bare frame and tons of restored peices in the garage laid out on sheets (luckily i have LOTS of garage space)
i would love to post pics but i haven't a clue how to post pics over here, so if you guys can tell me an easy way i will post. if not i'll post over on hotrodders (i know how to do that, they make it really simple) and post a link.
i would also like to know how all the other posters are coming with their body offs???
i have spent all winter rebuilding stuff and wire wheeling and bead blasting rusty/crusty stuff to better that new condition. attn. to detail and time is all it takes. i'm trying to do my resto mod on an 8 grand budget and so far i am under budget (not counting time--that would 20 grand and counting) i do everything myself, rebuild everything myself, and find the best deals i can searching the internet.
you got to love this hobby when there is no better smell than wire wheel rust dust in the morning...
[/QUOTE]"I'll trade your rust dust for my fiberglass dust!! Forgot how much I hate fiberglass work - at least the grinding part. Played with my boat all Summer and worked to hard this winter. Have not gotten far - pics coming when I get home.

OK fast eddy, i'll trade you my rust dust for your fiberglass dust. of course i hope you realize my fiberglass dust phase starts later this year after the rust dust phase ends.
OH, and whats with that whimpy little boat???
single or dual engines???
mercruiser stern drives??
i got rid of my 40' offshore racer a few years ago and glad i did. i would hate to fill up today at marina gas prices--200 gals. and i could burn it all in an afternoon...
dual 468 BBCs, mercruiser stern drives, FAST AND A BLAST, but i always felt like i was driving a house around...
