discolored rear bumper

discolored rear bumper
On my 64 the rear bumpers are becoming discolored from exhaust heat, a lot of it comes off with a good waxing. But I would hate to see them turn blue permanently. The exhaust tips stick out of the rear valance 4 1/8 measuring on the top of the exhaust bezel and are centered in the bezel. Is this correct? AIM doesn't show any measurements that I have found. Has anyone put longer exhaust tip on to combat this problem?

Bumper discoloration
yes, i have put on a little longer chrome extensions on my exhaust
tips so they stick out past the bumpers. It help a lot but i still get a
little bit of black on my bumpers? i cleans off pretty easily. since
i did this it really helps a lot. good luck
