Default 60 valve cover flaw

My 7 fin valve covers have the casting flaw. So...

Is it the original valve covers have the casting flaw by the Corvette "o", or is it the remanufactured ones that have the casting flaw?

The casting flaw started in 1966 on OEM covers.

The finned covers made today are manufactured with the same die-cast mold with the crack in it that was making them in 1966.

Default valve covers, any comments or tips on getting rid of the flaws?

Thanks everyone for the feedback.

Seeing that this is a 1964 327 engine in a 1960 then I need to start sanding and buffing out the flaws. From what you are saying is a 1960 does not have the flaw.

Any comments or tips on getting rid of the flaws?

you need to buy a set that does not have them. I have a set of polished covers that had the flaw and you can still see it.....only way is to get a set that never had them.

I bought a set of no flaw, had them polished and now have them out for chroming....if you can find a set already chromed in great shape you will be money way ahead.....getting a set chromed is not cheap.

my .02; i wouldn't try to fix the 'flawed' valve covers, they might be more valuable 'flawed' to somone who has a need for them.

Yes I have polished mine and they look pretty good, but not as nice as having them chromed. I think I will look around for a chromed used set. Thanks.
