your pvc hose is on? i am referring to the pvc hose that connects
from the back of the middle of the carburaetor to the valve cover?

i have seen some on the left side or drivers side and i have seen some
on the passenger side of the valve cover??? does it make a difference

On my 66 327 300HP motor there is a piece of PVC hose that goes (on the driver side) from the bottom of the air cleaner base to the crankcase tube coming out of the back of the block

PVC is the pipe. Polyvinylchloride.

PCV is "positive crankcase ventilation" which is what you want.

It does make a difference. John Hinckley explained it once. Crankshaft spins one way. Might kick up some oil. If it did, the oil mist would go to one side. That's not the side you want going to the carburetor vacuum.

I've always seen the pcv valve and hose to the carburetor on the left (driver's) side, and the hose to the bottom of the air cleaner on the right hand (passenger) side.

Midyear small-blocks didn't have any PCV connections to the valve covers - what year and engine are you asking about? There's no information in your profile, and your post didn't indicate it.

Oil fill tube to carb in 1967. As John stated, no link to valve cover.

He probably has a later model Chevy Engine in the car. If so the PCV is usually located on the driver side on top of the valve cover toward the front of the valve cover. The passenger side has a tube coming down from the air cleaner to the rear top of the valve cover. This tube goes into a grommet in the top of the valve cover to a breather filter in the air cleaner assembly.

John Z is right. It would really help to fill out your profile with some information pertaining to your car. At least a first name would be nice to have listed also. Some members don't answer questions if your profile isn't filled out. In this case you made it very hard for anyone to answer properly not giving enough info in the thread and not having your profile filled out so a member here could go there to see what vehicle you were possibly talking about. We try but most of us that I know are not mind readers.
