ml1966 I am using nason Ful-Thane 2K Urethane. It is made by Dupont and I really like it. I can still color sand and buff if I want. Three coats seemed to work well with about 10-15 minutes between each application.
Laid down real nice with a mininum amount of orange peal. I first wanted to use BC/CC until I saw a friends '40 Ford painted with this product. It look a lot like a lacquer pain job so I decided to us it. Could not be happier.
Glens '67 BB Vert. I am wet sanding with 3M 400 Wet or Dry. Don't you just love it when it runs down your arm and drips off your elbo.
I plan to paint the front side of the above parts tomorrow night. Hang in there its like Tom Sawyer, one panel at the time and before you know it your done. Yea Right!
tdelph, Ted yes I am still very active with the CCR group. Sure wish you would join us as we are a great group of Corvette lovers. The wives really enjoy the club also as we do a lot of cruzing and socializing
We meet the second Friday of each month. Let me know if you can find the time.
youwish2bme, Dave Don't forget this Saturday is the Vette Fest at Va Motor Sports Park. Our club is the sponser and everyone has worked hard to make it a blast. You can take the white beast down the quarter and maybe hurt same C5's feelings.
Yes, I feel very lucky to have a gal who still tries to look good. I never complain about how much she spends on herself. She works hard everyday and I get to stay home and play with my Corvettes.

. Grab the cell phone and call the Dupont rep. He ask how many coats of primer I put on. I said three as I wanted to have plenty to block off. Next he ask how long did I wait between coats. Well the truth is I probably put on four or more and it was a cold day in the shop. Did not use a spray booth.
He went on to explain that if you use too much and don't allow the coats to flash properly the solvents will get trapped and cause my results. AKA pin holes. Well live and learn. I guess I got lucky that the entire car did not do this. He said he will stop by tomorrow and take a look, but he is pretty sure that is what happened. I hope I only have to reprime the fender tops and move on. Did not do any painting tonight as I was pretty bumed out after the pin hole thing. Enamel is a good choice also. Been used for eons with great results. Keep me posted on your results.
