Default 54 Corvette project

I drive a C4 daily and have just recently got back into Corvettes (Had a 71 back in the day). I now have the opportunity to buy a 54 with 19,000 original miles. It has the blue flame six, does not run (it's been sitting for 31 years) and has a rusted frame. The seller is including a good 57 frame. How much is this car worth and would this project be a good investment?

Vary hard to say , but add the cost of the 54 and what it will take to bring back to life original or ? and you have your answer . I see them going for 50k to 150k quite a differeance and I dont get it. Good luck guy!

No way to tell what it's worth without more information. I'm not sure the 57 frame is correct for a 54. Post a picture or two, that will help. I just posted a 54 on the CF for a friend at 40K. The restoration was not complete but it had all parts, rebuilt motor/trany and new paint. It sold.

the '57 frame will fit, but is not correct. you need a frame that does not have the clearance for the V8 fuel pump.
maybe a late 53 frame? not sure if they are exactly the same as a '54 frame or if there is a difference in some areas.
basically '53-62 are the same. but for a numbers retso etc. you need the right one.

No enough info. My 54 was a rolling frame/body, with a good frame, rebuilt motor and trans but missing everything else. No gagues, windshield, seats, chrome nothing else. It took 2 years to find the parts, 40K to buy the parts and about 2500 labor hours to complete. Hope this helps. After all that I would definately do it again!

57 frame dont have the motor mounting brackets for a 6 banger, other wise will work with some welding
