Default c-2 sidepipes

Is it necessary to modify 65 vert, i.e., cutting of fiberglass, to install reproduction side exhausts?

Thanks,

The modifications are not required because of the reproduction pipes, it's required for any use of the original style sidepipes. It includeds cutting the front and rear tabs on the body. Hope this helps. Dave

I had to only cut the front fiberglas tab off mine, but I did have to cut all the rocker panel brackets. Some say you can bend them but that didn't work for me.

on my 65, (AOS car that came with undercar exhaust originally) the past owner who installed the factory-style sidepipes bent the rocker trim tabs out of the way (rather than wizzed them off). If that works for your installation, it is advisable since it makes the sidepipes more easily reversible.

Thanks to all. Now to decide to do it or not. A complete set of good used set for only $325 w/rear panel. And yes, I've seen them. A year ago I would've killed to have them but I've installed a great set magnaflows that I've fallen in love with. Decisions, decisions. What to do???

If you ever want to change it back. Almost impossible. It is almost impossible to do them correctly and fool anybody, that it came with them, and doubly as hard to return them to stock.

That's the precise reason for my hesitation. Thanks for the advise. I've decided to pass on them. I couldn't stand to cut my fiberglass and bend tabs back to install them.
