My bodyman says there was a 65 coupe that came with a 327 and was stock with sidepipes and an exhaust blower in the cabin to extract unpleasant things thru the upper side vents that the sidepipes might send into the cabin area. I had a lot of new Vettes in those days but don't remember that. BS or not?

The blower fan he refers to is located in the rear of all 1965 coupes, sidepipes or not, last year as not found on 1966 or 1967.

My 65 has the rear blower but don't know what it has to do with side pipes. I think they all came with the rear blower.

Had nothing to do with sidepipes, if that's the question. All '65 coupes had the 3 speed powered rear exhaust vent, operates off of the vent cable under the driver's dash. That was standard equipment on the coupe, the side pipes were an option.

1964's had the rear fan and sidepipes were not an option in 1964.

'64 has the blower too. I think that the main intention of the exhaust was to get rid of hot air. It's operated by a pull-cable under the cluster, similar to the vent cables. The settings are Closed, Open, Low, Medium, and High.

It actually is somewhat effective at full blast, but I've been considering tinting out the back window too for the same reason.

The basic question is this: Was there a 327 in 65 that came STANDARD with side pipes. I don't think so but I was wrong once.

Side pipes were an option, not standard equipment.
