Last night i was driving with the lights on. When I came to a stoplight, someone behind me said I had a tail light out. When I got home i checked it out. With the lights off the brake lights work fine, but with them on when I apply the brakes the passenger side goes out completely. Can soneone tell me what I should look for? Thanks in advance.
Sounds like a bad ground on the passenger side taillights. Make sure The sockets and bulb bases are clean. Check the ground wire that is connected to the taillight housing mounting bolts. Removing the rear valance panel will make checking those wires a much easier job.
Just had the same problem on my '63. I took the sockets off the car and cleaned them with a light grit sandpaper, and there is a tab in the socket, take a small screw driver and pull the tab out just a little and that should fix your problem, if anything, a good place to start.

I haven't had time to look at it yet. This weekend doesn't look any better. I just got new back-up lights, but haven't found reasonably priced red ones. Anybody have any aftermarket ones the would like to part with? I am going to wait until I have all 4, so I can put all of them in at once.
