I have a 60, and last week I took the lights off, put in gaskets, rechromed, etc. Just put those things back together and now I have no lights. Neither side. Any suggestions. This fixing one small problem only to cause a bigger one is starting to kill me.
Oh yes. earlier this week I asked about exhaust tips. Picked the car up this afternoon and the exhaust is flush with the bumper and I was just as happy as I could be until this. A two inch pipe would not go through the hole so we had to go down to 1 7/8"
Sounds like the whole lamp assembly was removed. Did you re-attach the black ground wire? There should be a ground attached, similar to a washer to nut / stud per lamp housing.
this may sound like a dumb question, but are you sure you placed the gasget between the lense and the socket, and not between the socket and the housing? just a thought.
On my 62, which has a different tail-light design, I didn't have any tail lights after rechroming everything - because the socket assembly was not touching the tail-light housing. Since the ground wire was connected to the housing, and the socket was not touching the housing (they had pushed into the lens a bit) the bulb was getting no ground
